How it All Began...

In 2013, Kathy Hewitt – founder of The Christmas Projects – learned about a family in crisis. They were homeless and struggling to provide a Christmas for their two young children. The story deeply moved Kathy. With a lifelong passion for children and a heart rooted in ministry, she felt compelled to act. That year, she went to the store, picked out a few special gifts, and helped make Christmas a little brighter for that family.

That same year, Kathy learned of several other families in similar situations. She reached out to a few friends and asked if they would like to help. And just like that, The Christmas Project was born. Since that humble beginning, we have had the incredible honor of serving over 1,800 families.

Over the years, we have come together as a community to support some of the most vulnerable children in Franklin and Cumberland counties. By 2023, the program had grown so much that we made the exciting decision to divide it into smaller, more manageable communities for the 2024 holiday season. We now have dedicated volunteers serving as TCP Coordinators in each community. These leaders embody the same compassion and giving spirit that Kathy began with and they are helping us grow and reach even more families.

With this expansion, we have also updated our name to The Christmas Projects – a reflection of our broader reach and our dream to one day serve families in other communities, and even across state lines.

Kathy is beyond excited to see this ministry continue to grow and serve more people each year. None of this would be possible without our amazing coordinators, sponsors, volunteers, local businesses, and churches.

From Kathy and all of us at The Christmas Projects – thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us bring joy, love, and hope to families needing assistance.

TOGETHER, WE CAN DO MORE!

Let’s continue together to spread the joy of our Savior’s birth – bringing help and hope to families in our communities.

GOD BLESS
